This document contains crucial details of N.Rich tags as well as instructions on how to set them up on your website.

Introduction

N.Rich Website Tags are essential components of gathering the essential account level buyer journey data that is used for intent data, analytics, advertising personalization, and for synchronizing cookies with Marketing Automation and CRM systems.

N.Rich provides two Tags (; Cookieless and Standard) are JavaScript code snippets that you should place on every page of your site using a tag manager application like Google Tag Manager. When using the Standard Tag an N.Rich cookie (3rd party cookie) will be created on the visitor’s browser and if a cookie already exists it will be refreshed, i.e. expiration date will be set to 540 days of last tag load. When using the Cookieless Tag, any existing cookies will be read, but they won’t be created or refreshed.

This document contains the instructions about setting up N.Rich Tag for your website. Please consult your N.Rich Representative in case of questions or information requirements.

Purpose

N.Rich Website Tag is used for advertising optimization, website, and audience (account-based) analytics and audience creation (retargeting) as well as for synchronizing cookies with marketing automation and CRM systems. The Cookieless Tag does not set cookies and only uses other available data points, such as IP addresses and pre-existing cookies. The Cookieless Tag must be used when the visitor has not provided consent for cookies. The Standard Tag sets cookies and enables more granular, cookie-based analytics, and advertising personalization. The Standard tag may only be used after the user has provided informed and explicit consent. Read more here: Ensuring EU GDPR compliant cookie consent on your website

Expiration time

N.Rich cookies have an expiration date of 540 days. The expiration is refreshed every time the N.Rich Standard Tag is loaded for a specific cookie.

Where N.Rich tags are used

N.Rich tags are used on client websites and through N.Rich programmatic advertising distribution. The client websites account for less than 10% of the overall data generated by N.Rich tags.

Installation

N.Rich Website Tag is a JavaScript code snippet that you place in the footer of your site, just above the </body> tag. The code snippet has been specially designed to load asynchronously and independently, so it will never block page load. We recommend installing N.Rich Website Tag using a tag manager, like Google Tag Manager or Adobe Tag Manager and it is strongly recommended to set the priority of N.Rich ABM Tag as high of the Tags as high as possible and set its sequence to loading first or as early as possible.

Cookieless and Standard

...

N.Rich provides two tags to ensure compliance with various privacy regulations globally, the Standard Tag that sets and refreshes cookies on the visitor’s browser, and the Cookieless Tag that only reads data, but does not set or refresh cookies. N.Rich Standard Tag must only be used when an informed, explicit cookie-consent has been provided by the visitor. For the sake of clarity, implied consent, e.g. notifying the visitors that by using the site he/she accepts cookies, is not considered a valid form of consent according to EU legislation.

In order to ensure critically important data, such as UTM-parameter data won’t be lost, N.Rich Cookielss Tag should always be used for all page load events before the visitor has provided an informed and explicit cookie-consent. Cookieless Tag is not setting or refreshing any cookies and hence is may be used without cookie-consent.

When using both, Cookieless and Standard Tags, the Standard Tag must only be loaded on the next page-load event after the consent has been received, so Cookieless and Standard tags may never be loaded on the same page load eventTags must not be loaded during the same page load. A typical method of setting up both tags on common tag managers is to use the “cookie-consent” cookie as the rule, i.e. if cookie-consent doesn’t exist, use the Cookieless Tag and if cookie-consent equals 1, use the Standard Tag.

Data Privacy

N.Rich tags are fully EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliant. N.Rich uses consent as the primary basis of creating cookies and personalizing advertising.
