Extracting domains from email addresses

A very efficient way of adding reach of your account lists is to use the existing email address data in your CRM or other sources. Email addresses always include a domain that in most cases can be associated with the account. This way you can potentially increase the reach of the account significantly. This may be very useful even if you have already taken advantage of the other two methods of adding domains to N.Rich, namely: 1) Importing the accounts with the website domain and 2) Importing the accounts with name and country and letting N.Rich find the domains.

Guidelines

The method of using email address domains for the import is very simple:

  1. Create an excel file from your CRM or another source including account CRM ID, account name, and all contact email addresses associated with the accounts.

  2. Open the excel file and choose the entire column including the email addresses (make sure the next column to the right from the email address column is empty).

  3. Choose Data / Text to columns on Excel

4. Choose Delimited and click Next

5. Add @ symbol to the field labeled “Other” on the following view

6. Click Finish

7. Delete the column including the first name and last name part of the contacts and add a name to the domain column: “Email domain”

8. Select the entire sheet, click on Data from the top menu, and select Table Tools / Remove Duplicates.

9. Leave all columns selected on the Header popup that appears and click on OK.

10. Save the file and import it to N.Rich using the Email domain as the account domain
